First day back to class for students and teachers at Sandy Hook Elementary School on Thursday

Pray for the students and teachers at Sandy Hook Elementary School as they head back to class today, the first time since the tragedy on  December 14th. They won’t be attending their old school, which remains part of an ongoing police investigation. Instead students will attend Chalk Hill Middle School in a nearby town, renamed Sandy Hook Elementary School.  Counselors say it’s important for the children to get back into a normal routine. One expert stating that “…all in all, we want the kids to reconnect with their friends and classroom teachers, and I think that’s going to be the healthiest thing.”  A familiar face will oversee the school and its students: former Sandy Hook principal Donna Page, who retired two years ago but is returning to help in the transition.
