THIS has a better return on investment than Gold?

In the last 15 years, the average value of a Lego set has gone up, with “pristine condition” sets ‘appreciating’ at 12%, according to the Telegraph. Prices jump up to 36% for discontinued models. Say what? Since 2000, the S&P 500 has returned about 4.2% annually, gold 9.6%.           http://goo.gl/dkCjPX

Heartburn: Home Remedies that help naturally

Most of us have experienced the uncomfortableness of heartburn.

Greasy piece of pizza, spicy taco or even water, acid reflux is NO laughing matter.  Home Remedies that help naturally include Aloe Vera Juice, Chewing Gum, Apple Cider Vinegar, Saltine Crackers…

Verne’s favorite = Baking Soda?  About one teaspoon of baking soda mixed in water can be used as a natural antacid for acid reflux. The reason: Its main ingredient, sodium bicarbonate, helps neutralize stomach acid and prevents it from backing up in the esophagus.  Simple and cheap!  J        http://goo.gl/d1pCjH

January is National Radon Action Month – Free radon test kits are available for a limited time on a first-come, first-serve basis. The kits typically retail for $15.  FYI: Radon is the leading cause of lung cancer deaths among non-smokers annually (EPA).  www.ncradon.org   Pickup sites in Winston-Salem:

Still have that ‘real’ Christmas tree and don’t know what to do with it?  Recycle it. You can drop it off that old tree at one of 10 designated locations (mainly parks and rec center parking lots) in Winston-Salem. http://goo.gl/zkfym6

FYI: The trees taken from the sites will be hauled to the landfill and chipped up, then used by city departments for mulching projects around town.

De-clutter your way to a more peaceful 2016…

Enjoy saving money, feeling less stressed, having more time to spend with family and friends, or simply having a neater home!  De-clutter your life!

Reclaim your time.

Americans spend 9.1 years of their lives watching TV

Over one year cleaning and 11 hours a day in front of digital media.

In particular, women spend 8 years of their lives shopping…

1.5 years doing their hair and nearly 1 year deciding what to wear!

Can you relate???

TIP: If you can’t eliminate, reduce.

Do you really need ten sets of bedlinens for your two-bedroom apartment?

Or twenty bath towels for a family of four? Chances are, you don’t.

*Donate, dump or repurpose these excess items and free up space.

TIP:  Dump the ‘just in case’ stuff!

Things like random screws, 6 inch pieces of string, one-off buttons, the end of a roll of insulation tape (NO more hoarding).

Try the 20/20 rule. If you can replace it for $20 dollars, and can source it within 20 minutes of your home, get rid of it – because its easily replaceable if needed.
