Wind Advisory for central North Carolina, including the Triad, from Noon Monday through early Tuesday morning.   With wind gusts up to 40 mph, please make sure that outdoor items such as garbage cans and deck furniture are secured or taken inside.  High Wind Warning for the Northern Mountains and Foothills

Hurricane Sandy is pushing cold air from the north into North Carolina. The
National Weather Service has issued a Winter Storm Warning for heavy snow in the Northern Mountains.  Boone and West Jefferson could get 4 to 8 inches of snow by Wednesday morning.     www.ncdot.gov/traffictravel/
