Beautiful Fall weekend: Lots of sunshine with Highs in the mid to upper 50’s.  Chance of rain the first part of next week.

The Sunrise Diner on Randolph Street in Thomasville will be open this Sunday (Dec 04) from 7am to 2 pm.   All proceeds from breakfast and lunch will go to the Red Cross Disaster Relief Fund to help raise funds for the tornado victims in Davidson and Randolph Counties. 

Brandon Heath has picked up three Grammy nominations.  For his CD “Leaving Eden”  and for his hit song “Your Love”. Among other Christian artists receiving Grammy nominations this week include:  Natalie Grant, Matt Maher, Leeland and Royal Tailor. The GRAMMY Awards ceremony will be held in LA on Sunday, February 12th.

Continue to pray: Reverend Billy Graham is resting comfortable while being treated for pneumonia at Mission Hospital in Asheville.   The 93 year old evangelist was encouraged Thursday morning by a visit from his pastor, Dr. Don Wilton of First Baptist Church in Spartanburg, S.C., who shared a passage from the book of Ephesians… “For this reason, ever since I heard about your faith in the Lord Jesus and your love for all God’s people, I have not stopped giving thanks for you, remembering you in my prayers”   (Ephesians 1:15-16). “The Heart of Christmas”, a new holiday movie inspired by the Matthew West song “One Last Christmas,” debuts this Sunday night on the Gospel Music Channel.  Matthew’s new holiday album, “The Heart of Christmas” features the theme song for the movie “One Last Christmas”.                                               FYI: “The Heart of Christmas” is based on a true story that made national headlines when a community in Central Illinois decorated their houses for Christmas several weeks early for a two-year old boy battling a rare form of Leukemia.  The movie unfolds as one family’s grief is eased by the love and support of their community and the life-changing legacy their son Dax Locke left behind.

Westside Fellowship Church in Alamance County is once again being the hands (and feet) of Jesus at Holly Hill mall, by renting out two spaces at the mall to provide FREE gift wrapping to shoppers.  They are also using part of the space for children’s ministry. Pastor Kurt Ward telling The Christian Post that, “Christmas has become so commercialized. For many Christmas is just about the shopping and the gifts. Through this outreach, we want to remind people of the true meaning of Christmas.”  RnR

Former Stokes County Sheriff Mike Joyce lost his battle with cancer yesterday.  Joyce was 63 years old.

 Hundreds of people lined up Thursday afternoon at Pleasant Garden Baptist Church during a visitation for family and friends of the four teenagers and the 8-year-old who were killed in the deadly Pleasant Garden shootings back on November 20. A funeral service will take place this Friday morning at 10am at Pleasant Garden Baptist Church in Greensboro.  Three of the victims went to SoutheastGuilfordHigh School. Re-Deck the Halls? The staff at Wake Forest University’s law and business library was given the challenge to find ways to recycle and reuse many unused law and business books. So they decided to turn those old books into decorations for the holidays. The books were formed into a 5 foot tall Christmas tree and even some furniture in Wake’s Professional Library. (Fox 8)
