WakeTheVote: WFU students on the ground in Iowa for once in a lifetime learning experience

Among all of the voters, volunteers, organizers and candidates, 22 Wake Forest University students are in Iowa, getting a firsthand look at American politics in action — with a side of class credit. Students taking part in Wake the Vote, are actively participating through classwork and real-world political experiences — like volunteering with campaigns during contests in Iowa, New Hampshire, South Carolina and North Carolina.

Here’s the twist: WFU students will be randomly assigned to a different campaign in each state, meaning many students will end up working for a candidate they wouldn’t necessarily support.                 http://goo.gl/xGifiE

Over the summer months, students will volunteer with any political campaign of their choosing and as a class attend both the Republican and Democratic national conventions. Follow the students here: http://wakethevote.wfu.edu/

Iowa voters go to their caucuses today to cast the first votes of the 2016 presidential nominating contest. Heavy snow is expected later tonight…
