As the newest member to the staff and my first Wednesday Word I thought I would take the opportunity to share who the new girl in the morning is:
I was born and raised in or around Davidson County. I attended many schools as a child but settled down in the 4th Grade at Midway Elementary then graduated from North Davidson, class of 95’, go Black Knights!! I attended Davidson County Community College and Forsyth Technical Community College.
May 24 will be my 7 year wedding anniversary to my most amazing husband, Derek. Derek is a mechanic and specializes in Customizing vehicles. We had our one and only son Carter in June of 2008. Carter is 100% boy! He plays all sports, loves the outside and keeps mommy on her toes. We will be starting Kindergarten this fall in Davie County. I could go on and on about Carter and Derek but I’ll save that for on-air.
We have a Retriever/Ridgeback mix 15 year old dog named Brutus. I rescued Brutus from the Humane Society when he was only 8 wks old. Brutus and I have been through many life changing events and he was the ring barrier in my wedding.
As I grew up I believed in Jesus and knew that God was my Heavenly father but I wasn’t raised with the church. As I got older I became more and more intrigued in what being a Christian was and what it meant. I visited many churches and dominations to see where I felt at home. I found a Pastor that spoke to me and started to understand what being a Christian was. I asked the Lord to be my Savior and started my walk with the Lord. My husband and mother also accepted Jesus as their savior and started their walk with Christ. What a blessing to be baptized with your future husband and make the walk together.
My mom and dad played a huge role in my life. I lost my dad at the age of 53 and 5 years later I lost my mom at the age of 51. I miss my mom and dad very much. I love you both and you both put up a big fight against cancer. I will see u again some Day.
Well what can I say other than I’m a really nice, loving, kind, no one is a stranger, fun, loud, blunt, to the point, and I’m sure I’ve left out a lot (stop the eye rolling Verne). Stay tuned to learn more about me and feel free to shoot me an email or call anytime.
Grace and Mercy
