The Australian government has proposed a ban on children under 16 from using social media and will hand down huge fines to companies who don’t comply. The ban is expected to apply to services including TikTok, X, Instagram and Snapchat, though a full list has not been released. The legislation follows several high-profile cases of bullying and complaints from parents worldwide about the pressure their children face to be online.

All in a name (change)? Campbell Soup Company will shorten its official name by dropping ‘soup’, after shareholders voted to move forward with the name change to just Campbell’s.
The New Jersey-based Campbell’s hasn’t been exclusive to the soup business for some time. The 155 year old company also owns brands like Prego sauce and Goldfish crackers — and completed a $2.7 billion acquisition of Sovos Brands, the maker of Rao’s pasta sauces, earlier this year.

Thanksgiving ‘stuff’ing…
Good News: Our Thanksgiving meal will cost ‘less’ this year thanks to lower turkey prices, according to the American Farm Bureau Federation.
The survey found that a classic feast for 10 people will cost around $58 dollars this year, a 5% decrease from 2023.
It’s the second year in a row that American families can expect to spend less on Thanksgiving dinner, but the cost is still almost 20% higher than before the pandemic. Note: Dinner rolls and cranberries are actually MORE expensive this Thanksgiving.https://myfox8.com/news/heres-how-much-thanksgiving-dinner-will-cost-this-year/

‘Nutcracker’ props have been stolen from a Michigan ballet company
A ballet group in suburban Detroit is scrambling after someone stole a trailer filled with props for upcoming performances of the “The Nutcracker.”
The lost items include a grandfather clock and a Christmas tree that can be extended to 17 feet.
“They’re things nobody could use, except in a theater,” said June Smith, artistic director at the Plymouth-Canton Ballet Company.
More than 80 students from 20 dance studios have been practicing for months, Smith said.
The missing black trailer is 24 feet (7.3 meters) long.
The ballet group is raising money to try to replace the props in time for the December 7-8 performances. This year marks the 40th anniversary of the company’s first “Nutcracker.”
Speaking of “Wicked”…
