All state and US flags have been lowered to “half-staff” through Thursday in honor of U.S. Army Staff Sgt. Joshua “Caleb” Gore – one of the nine soldiers who died during a military training exercise on March 29 in Kentucky. The 25-year-old was a native of Morehead City and a 2015 graduate of West Carteret High School.

In a historic court appearance on Tuesday, former President Donald Trump pleaded ‘not guilty’ to 34 felony criminal charges of falsifying business records in a Manhattan courtroom.
